Rodrigo Machado Iturbe

Rodrigo Machado Iturbe is an established Venezuelan kinetic artist with extensive international exposure who has participated in numerous art fairs and solo shows, nationally and internationally. Machado’s artwork is created with highly sophisticated high-tech printing techniques on aluminum surfaces and other contemporary materials. The intersecting lines of his work create effects of visual movement. The main media of his op-art is aluminum, treated and lacquered with acrylic paint and varnished with a matte UV finish, making it highly resistant to external elements. The quality of Machado’s art is not only technically highly sophisticated, but it is truly impeccable, and has been praised by renowned international art critics.

His work is conceptually inserted in the revision and reconceptualization of modern and contemporary art movements of the 20th century, following trends that have marked and defined contemporary art at the beginning of the 21st century. His main references come from optical, kinetic, geometric art, influenced by renowned artists such as Jesus Soto, Carlos Cruz-Diez and Gego.

Machado’s artwork, exclusively represented in Oregon and Washington by Liz Contag Art, can be found in both residential and commercial spaces around the world. Liz Contag, in conjunction and under the expert guidance of the artist, can work closely with architects and developers for large scale installations and commissions. We are proud to share that Rodrigo Machado Iturbe recently unveiled his monumental Public Art installed in his home town, Caracas, Venezuela.

Liz Contag Art is pleased to represent Machado with exclusivity in Oregon and Washington.
