Lorijo Daniels
Lorijo Daniels is a visual artist residing in Portland, Oregon. She graduated in the early nineties obtaining a BFA from a small private liberal arts university (Wells College). She began teaching art and discovering her own artistic path with photography and sculpture. Daniels continued studying photography in Portland, Oregon and has had many solo and collaborative exhibitions.
In 2020 Daniels began learning the process of botanical printing and dying. She was immediately drawn into this process, and studied with many teachers and mentors, experimenting with different techniques to finally achieve the creation of unique and exquisite artwork.
Liz Contag was particularly drawn to her Botanical Print series. The harmonious imagery with soothing colors can be printed up to 8 feet long and 3 feet wide on a variety of media, be it on German fine art paper, high quality cotton canvas, delicate silk and many other fabrics. Some of her prints are done locally, while others are printed in Europe, depending on the medium.
Daniels works closely with Liz Contag Art on commissions to attain requested color hues. No exact color can be promised as the prints involve a long dye and steam process. Maximum dimensions will vary depending on the artwork and medium selected.
Liz Contag Art is pleased to represent artist Lorijo Daniels with exclusivity in Oregon, California and Washington.
