Xavier Escribà
Xavier Escribà was born in Paris in 1969. He studied art in Barcelona (Sant Jordi Fine Arts College, University of Barcelona) and in Paris (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris). He lived in Paris for over ten years and started his career there.
His pictorial development, described as "imaginative and original" by critic Maria-Luïsa Borràs, might be described as a continuation of the French Support-Surface movement.
Since 2000, he has exhibited both frequently and regularly in France and Spain and is present on the international art scene at highly renowned fairs such as Art Basel, Art Paris, Arco, Fiac,The Armory Show, ArtCologne, etc. Escribà is represented by established galleries in Europe and by Liz Contag Art in the United States.
Escribà’s artwork is part of important public art collections in Madrid, Barcelona and Paris and numerous private collections in France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Finland, Belgium, United Kingdom, Portugal, Greece, Estonia, and United States.
He currently lives and works in his studio in Catalonia, Spain. Liz Contag Art is pleased to represent artist Xavier Escribà with exclusivity in Oregon, California and Washington.
